Kelpi and iCAST: driving sustainable chemical technologies into clean growth
With its sights firmly focussed on the scale-up of industry applications for its innovative bioplastic technology, Kelpi is delighted to have been accepted as an industry member of the Innovation Centre for Applied Sustainable Technologies (iCAST).
Funded by the Research England Development Fund, iCAST is a £17m partnership between the Universities of Bath and Oxford, the High Value Manufacturing Catapult’s National Composites Centre (NCC) and Centre for Process Innovation (CPI), and the Swindon and Wiltshire LEP. The programme is hosted by the Centre for Sustainable and Circular Technologies at the University of Bath.
iCAST’s ambition is to become an R&D and collaboration hub for companies working on clean growth technologies. “As an ambitious start-up working on sustainable bioplastics, iCAST affords us a great opportunity to rub shoulders with multinational corporates and other high-growth SMEs who share our mission for innovation in the sector,” says Kelpi Co-Founder Murray Kenneth.
