Kelpi celebrates International Women’s Day

Today marks International Women’s Day 2024. At Kelpi, we’re acutely aware of the reality of the gender inequality in Tech – notably, that it is one of the most imbalanced industries in the UK with only 27% of its workforce identifying as women.

However, we’re extremely proud that we’re beating those statistics with 58% of Kelpi’s workforce identifying as women. There is second however though – the number of women in leadership positions at Kelpi is disproportionately low in comparison to the wider business, and we acknowledge that this isn’t good enough.

To mark International Women’s Day, the team spent the morning having breakfast together, and discussing the importance of days like IWD, sharing experiences, thoughts, and ideas around how we can continue to improve such significant issues like gender inequality, especially in a male-dominated industry like Tech. We discussed how Kelpi are committed to improving its presentation at Leadership level, through developing the incredible women that we have in our business and providing a supportive environment for them to grow and increase their expertise.

The women at Kelpi are extremely talented, World-Class Scientists, Engineers, and Business Professionals, and we would certainly not be where we are today without them. So today, and EVERY day, here’s to them – lets continue to celebrate the incredible achievements of Women in Tech, whilst advocating for better support, recognition, and representation in the industry.
