Kelpi is growing. We’re looking for an experienced polymer chemist, ideally with a PhD, who’s excited by working in sustainable technology development.

The successful candidate will work at the University of Bath, helping pioneer the development of new bioplastics from seaweed in a collaborative project funded by Kelpi.

We’re looking for someone who can combine scientific expertise with entrepreneurial vision to identify and seize opportunities to keep Kelpi at the forefront of a fast-moving sector.

As part of this team you will play a pivotal role producing bioplastic packaging that is both marine-safe and home-compostable, as part of a wider biorefinery set-up being developed. To achieve this you will synthesise a range of seaweed-based composite films, using Kelpi's proprietary methodology.

You'll play a key role at the heart of the business, driving the research and development forward under the leadership of Professor Chris Chuck. While this original role is for only six months, we would envision a successful candidate being a part of Kelpi and/or the University team for the longer term.
